Dr. José Alberto Pereira (ResearcherID: L-6798-2014; ORCID 0000-0002-2260-0600; h-index: 46) is Full Professor of Agricultural Sciences at ESA-IPB (www.esa.ipb.pt), and Director of “Centro de Investigação de Montanha” (www.cimo.ipb.pt). He is head of the Laboratory of AgroBioTechnology and the President of the Portuguese Horticultural Association (APH). He has a first degree in Agricultural Engineering, a Master in Quality Control and a PhD in Agriculture Sciences/Entomology. His main interests are focused on the dynamics of pests in Mediterranean fruit trees, including olive, and on the influence of agricultural practices in the composition and quality of vegetables products. He is focusing on strategies and habitat manipulation programs such as the study of alternative food sources and impact of sustainable products in pests and beneficial entomofauna. In this aim, he participate/has been participating in more than 50 national and international research projects as coordinator or team member. He supervised 15 finished PhD, 8 post-PhD and 60 Master students. He is author of 264 ISI indexed papers and more than 600 international and national communications.
