Dr Paloma Sánchez-Bel:
Has a degree in Biochemistry at the University of Murcia and got a PhD in Agricultural chemistry and Food technology (CEBAS-CSIC). Her postdoctoral research started in the “Genomics and fruit biotechnology” research group (INRA-INP/ENSAT, Toulouse, France) studying the potential determinants of the formation of volatile compounds in tomato, followed by another stage in the research group “biotic stress quality and production” (CEBAS-CSIC) working in abiotic stress mainly in cold and salt stress. Currently, she has a permanent position at the University Jaume I in the “Metabolic Integration and Cell Signalling” research group studying the plant immune system in the context of plant-pathogen interaction especially in induced-resistance and priming. Among the different inducers of defences, she is now focused on mycorrhiza and peptide-induced resistance against pathogens and pest such as two spotted spider mites. She supervised 6 undergraduate thesis, 1 PhD thesis and 2 more that are in course. PI of 3 national funded project and 2 private research project. Author or co-author of 44 indexed scientific papers (SCI) with and H index of 19 and more than 1400 cites (scholar google). Member of the Editorial Board of “Journal of integrated OMICS”, “Dataset Papers in Science: Agriculture” and “Journal of Plant Growth Regulation”.
