Dr. Christos Zamioudis is an Assistant Professor in Plant Pathology at the Department of Agricultural Development. He studied Agricultural Sciences (Plant Protection) at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece) and holds a master’s degree in Applied Genetics and Biotechnolgy from the same University. He obtained his PhD in Plant-Microbe Interactions (Utrecht University, The Netherlands) and worked for 4 years in the plant industry as Phytopathology Researcher at Rijk Zwaan B.V., a leading company in vegetable breeding. His research interests focus on plant bacteriology. He was a post-doctoral researcher in the ERC-funded project PLANTIMMUSYS and also participated as scientific advisor in several projects related to plant-associated bacteria. He has published 12 articles in leading scientific journals (h index=11, >2500 citations; Scopus) on the interactions of plants with beneficial bacteria. He is member of the International Society of Molecular Plant-Microbe Interactions (IS-MPMI) and Assosiate Editor at the Frontiers in Plant Science.
