Christos D. Karelakis is an Associate Professor in the Department of Agricultural Development of the Democritus University of Thrace (DUTH), in the field of Agricultural Policy. His studies include a BSc in Agricultural Economics from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), an MSc in International Agricultural and Food Marketing from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, and a PhD in Agricultural Economics from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. His research interests focus on agricultural policy, rural development, international trade and agri-food business management with published work in reputable international journals such as Land Use Policy, Agribusiness an International Journal, Fisheries Research, Agronomy for Sustainable Development, Journal of Cleaner Production, Energy Policy, Agricultural Systems, Annals of Operations Research. He has participated as a researcher in international (FP5-FP6-FP7 European projects) and domestic research projects and serves as a review Editor of Frontiers in Marine Affairs and Policy.
